Winter Energy Boost Tips
Being tried and burnt out is one of the most common problems I see, and given the nature of our fast-paced lives, I am not surprised.
We as individuals put an enormous amount of pressure on ourselves to show up 24/7; often sacrifices sleep and much needed time out. However, the value of sleep and relaxation is invaluable especially when it comes to our overall health and wellbeing levels.
Energy Boosting Tips & Tricks:
Wake up early - I recommend getting up between 6 am - 6.30am. Giving yourself a little more time in the morning allows you to prepare for the day ahead in a timely relaxed manner.
Move your body before work - anything from a HITT workout, jog around the block, to yoga stretches on your bedroom floor.
Drink 2.5 - 3L - I know it is easier said than done, especially on the colder days. But the importance of hydration is key to a clear, productive mindset.
Supplements - I recommend a vitamin c, and complex B vitamin; giving you a little extra boost to your energy levels.
Cut Gluten & Sugar - look at incorporating more leafy greens and proteins into your diet, to regulate blood sugar levels.
Limiting Caffeine - can do wonders for your cortisol and adrenal levels. I recommend consuming for coffee prior to 11 am. Your body shouldn't need caffeine to get through the day.
Self Compassion - Don't be afraid to say no, and ensure that you are having nights in to relax and recharge your own batteries.
Switch Off - Be conscious to turn off your phone off by 9 pm to ensure that you get a restful nights sleep that is not disturbed.
