What to Buy Organic

Do I need to buy these fruits and vegetables organic? This is a question that I constantly get asked. 

The foods you should focus on souring organic include:

  • Apples

  • Nectarines

  • Potatoes

  • Peaches

  • Celery

  • Spinach

  • Berries - Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries

  • Snap Peas

  • Tomatoes

  • Cucumber

  • Zucchini

  • Graphs

  • Lettuce

These foods have a higher increase of being contaminated and thus it is important to try and buy these from your local grocery store or market where you know that they are free from chemicals and pesticides. 

On the other hand, the fruits and vegetables that you don’t necessarily need to purchase organic include:

  • Avocado

  • Mangos

  • Pineapple

  • Sweet Corn

  • Cabbage

  • Eggplant

  • Grapefruit

  • Kiwi Fruit

  • Papaya

  • Watermelon

  • Rock Melon

  • Cauliflower

  • Sweet Potatoes

  • Asparagus

  • Onions

  • Sweet Peas

Overall most importantly make sure you are purchasing the freshest quality fruits and vegetables which are in season - shopping from your local farmers markets, green grocer or delicatessen supermarkets are always recommend.
